Lepenatka, rising to 1,426 metres (KSa area IV.b), is a rounded, grassy mountain on the southeastern edge of the Kamnik–Savinja Alps. Its open summit offers a wide panorama over Gornji Grad and the entire Upper Savinja Valley, making it a natural viewing terrace above the landscape. Despite its moderate height, the view extends far: from Menina planina and the slopes above Luče and Solčava to the more distant ridges of the Grintovec range in clear weather. The summit is spacious, bright, and visually very appealing.
Just a short distance higher stands Veliki Rogatec at 1,557 metres, a sharp, rocky peak that forms a striking contrast to the gentle, grassy Lepenatka. Rogatec is steeper, more alpine in character, and requires more experience, so the two peaks are often combined into a circular route that blends the friendliness of Lepenatka with the dramatic character of Rogatec. The landscape between them is a mix of meadows, forest belts, and open ridges, giving the area a distinctly pastoral feel. Lepenatka remains popular for its accessibility, its far‑reaching views, and the sense of calm, open mountain space that unfolds surprisingly quickly during the ascent.
